Welcome to The Dorset and Somerset Cardiac Network Website

This site has been developed to act as a central resource for information on the approach of the Dorset and Somerset health community to tackling coronary heart disease (the UK's biggest killer) by providing better care without delay.

The Dorset and Somerset Cardiac Network is an affiliation of organisations with an interest in cardiac services. Its purpose is to deliver excellent and equitable cardiac care to all people affected by coronary heart disease and to improve the experience of patients. It does this through partnership working between NHS organisations, local authorities and other providers. Patients and carers are at the forefront of the service and their views and experiences in all aspects of cardiac care are central to the service improvement work of the network.

"My goal would be that the patient voice would be listened to, understood and responded to – people matter. I believe that the Dorset and Somerset Cardiac Network have the same goal – which is great!"
Dennis Holford, Dorset Patient
